Privacy Policy

Brick Verdict is built around a simple promise: your scans stay on your phone. There are no accounts, no logins, and no tracking analytics. This page explains exactly what data the app does and doesn't touch, and the third parties involved in answering "is this LEGO a good deal?".

What we don't collect

• No accounts. We don't ask for your name, email address, or any other personal identifier. There is no sign-up.
• No tracking analytics. We don't use Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, AppsFlyer, Adjust, or any equivalent. We have no idea who is using the app.
• No advertising IDs. We don't read your IDFA or use it for any purpose.
• No location. The app never asks for your location.
• No social graph or contacts. We don't read your address book.

What stays on your device

The following data is stored locally on your iPhone (in encrypted iOS storage) and never leaves it:

• Watchlist — the LEGO sets you've tapped "Watch this" on, with the price thresholds you set.
• Scan history — the verdicts you've checked, kept locally so the Pro "History" view can show them. Deleting an entry removes it permanently.
• Free-tier scan counter — the number of scans you've used today (resets daily). Stored in the iOS Keychain.

What we send to our server

When you ask for a verdict, the app sends a small request to our Cloudflare-hosted server containing only:

• The LEGO set ID you scanned (e.g. "10305")
• The condition you selected (sealed, open complete, open incomplete)
• The asking price you entered

That request contains no identifier for you or your device. The server has no way to associate two requests as coming from the same user.

If you opt in to watchlist alerts, we additionally store, against your Apple Push notification token:

• The set IDs you're watching
• The condition you've chosen for each
• The threshold price for each

This is the minimum data required to fire a "set X has dropped below £Y" notification. The push token is opaque to us — we cannot use it to identify you, only to deliver a notification to your device.

Third parties our server talks to

• BrickLink — historical sales averages by set ID and condition. No personal data is sent.
• eBay UK — current listings and (where available) sold prices by set ID and condition. No personal data is sent.
• Brickognize — for image-based identification when you photograph a loose minifig or set without a barcode. The image you took is sent to Brickognize and processed; no personal identifier is attached.
• Rebrickable — bulk catalog data downloaded once at app build time. No live requests are made.

Crash reports

When the app or our server crashes, an anonymous crash report may be sent to Sentry to help us fix the problem. These reports include the type of error and where it occurred, but no personal data, scan history, or watchlist contents.

Apple App Store + StoreKit

Purchases (Pro Lifetime, Pro Annual) are handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We never see your payment information.

Your choices

• Delete the app to wipe all local data (watchlist, scan history, scan counter).
• Remove items from your watchlist to stop us mirroring them on our server.
• Disable notifications in iOS Settings → Notifications → Brick Verdict to stop receiving alerts.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when something material changes. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
